Traditional Philosophy
The only K-8 school in the district, MTA provides a traditional advanced curriculum for those families wanting a researched based and historically proven methodology of instruction for their children.
Madison Traditional Academy (MTA) develops a solid foundation of fundamental and higher-level thinking skills through a structured curriculum that is consistent within each grade level and sequential throughout the grades. Students work one year above grade level in math and have an advanced language arts curriculum.
At MTA, curriculum is taught using direct instruction techniques, whole class instruction, and approved teaching methods. The phonics based Spalding Method is the basis of the MTA Language Arts curriculum. Reveal Math is the basis for the mathematics curriculum, and the Core Knowledge Sequence is utilized and taught in all grades. In addition, PBIS is utilized for our character and behavior education.
