Madison Traditional Academy (MTA) is the only preschool – 8th grade school in the Madison School District. MTA focuses on cultivating a solid foundation of fundamental and higher-level thinking skills through a structured and sequential curriculum.
Students are challenged to excel academically through a rigorous program, working one year above grade level in math and engaging in an advanced language arts curriculum. Instruction is grounded in direct instruction techniques and whole-class teaching methods within highly structured classrooms that maintain high academic and behavioral expectations.
At the core of MTA's language arts curriculum is explicit phonics and comprehension instruction, while Reveal Math supports advanced mathematics learning. In addition to academics, MTA maintains a school-wide uniform policy, requires family volunteer participation, and promotes strong character development and consistent behavior expectations.
